When demand for energy peaks and renewable energy output drops, the UK grid becomes more dependent on fossil fuels.

To manage these peaks, the National Energy System Operator (NESO) runs grid service events. These event rewards consumers for reducing demand or exporting stored energy.

GivBack connects your GivEnergy battery and smart meter to these NESO events, automatically exporting energy when it’s most valuable.

All actions happen in the background, securely and seamlessly with no manual control required.

How It Works

Via a smart, secure algorithm, we’ll handle your GivEnergy battery for you during each NESO export even.

We will top-up your battery’s charge if necessary and if your tariff makes it economical.

Your battery auto-exports during the event (won’t discharge below reserve).

Your settings revert and your battery returns to normal schedule.

You cash out your earnings 90 days after your first event.
