Understanding Eco Mode (& why it’s the default)

Eco Mode is the default setting for most GivEnergy systems and is designed to save you money automatically without you needing to change settings.

  • In Eco Mode, your battery discharges to cover your home’s demand whenever there is charge available.
  • This reduces your draw from the grid and makes use of stored solar or off-peak electricity.
  • For most households, Eco Mode is the recommended setting.

Troubleshooting:

  • If you are on a time-of-use tariff, you may wish to add a timed charge period to take advantage of cheap rates.

When to Contact Support:

If your system does not appear to be working in Eco Mode (e.g., not covering home usage).
