GivEnergy systems rely on precision metering to ensure accurate import/export data and intelligent power flow control. The three main metering devices used across installations are:

Meter – GEM630MCT
Type – Three-phase
Application – Commercial and high-power three-phase systems
Compatible Systems – 6kW, 8kW, 10kW, 15kW, 20kW HV inverters
Meter – GIV-LoRa-LCD
Type – Wireless bridge
Application – Long-distance metering communication (up to 6 km)
Compatible Systems – Any system with distant meter-inverter connection
Core Function
Each meter provides accurate measurement of:
- Energy consumption and generation (import/export)
- Voltage, current, and frequency
- Power factor and load balance
- Bidirectional energy flow (for hybrid operation)
All meters communicate with the inverter via RS485 Modbus, enabling the inverter to:
- Calculate true load and grid import/export values
- Control charge/discharge operations
- Display metering data in the GivEnergy Portal
